Best web hosting provider / domain name registrar?

I'm planning on building a website and would like to know which are the top web hosting providers and domain name registrars out there. I'd prefer no-ads, but would like to keep costs low while still having some flexibility in how the site is built. There won't be a ton of traffic, and it won't be very fancy/complex. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!

  1. GoDaddy http://www.godaddy.com A-PLus http://www.aplus.net Those two shops are mature and established players that have good prices, offer domain name registration and a lot of options for budget hosting. Good luck.
  2. I would reccomend StartLogic web hosting. Their ProLogic plan includes 1500 GB of disk space, and a ton of room to grow. One year registration price is $6.95 per month, with a free domain. As for a standalone domain registrar, Omnis is the cheapest and has the best support.
  3. http://www.tripod.com
  4. Honestly, if you dont have much expectation for your website, start with GoDaddy. They are effective and cheap. If you need more - like high volume traffic, etc. then you can explore more. But based on what you wrote, GoDaddy is the best of all worlds - affordable, not too complicated.

  6. Godaddy web hosting sucks, I moved all my website to http://aplis.net/
  7. I just came across this website, a lot of in fo on web hosting: http://a-cheap-dedicated-server-web-hosting.blogspot.com
  8. If you look for web hosting, don’t rush into it. Read reviews about web hosting and decide properly before going ahead with web hosting. I personally will recommend you a web hosting which many people find it very reliable. It is hostmonster. Before deciding to sign up hostmonster, read the reviews and stats about hostmonster at the following website. http://www.hostmonsterreview.co.uk
  9. All of the web hosting providers, I will recommend you to go for hostmonster web hosting. They are simply one of the best web hosting providers and their service is very much reliable and their uptime is also excellent. With their web hosting, you will get 1500 GB webspace, 15000 GB bandwidth (data transfer) and multiple (upto 1000) domain web hosting. You will also get free domain as well. Check their features at their site. http://www.superbesthost.com
  10. If you need basic web hosting, you can try hosting your website at http://duwh.com , it is completely free and there are no Ads
  11. Whatever you do, do NOT get your domain and web hosting from the same place. That just makes it harder to change either if the service isn't what you expect, and it gives you no leverage to plead your case if/when some issue arises. I like GoDaddy for domains (but avoid them for several good reasons when it comes to hosting). For the hosting, there are issues to consider beyond just bandwidth and hard drive space, especially if your site will have dynamic content (a web application). I did an article on the issues, here... http://www.HesitantRhino.com/build-your-own-website/domain-name-registration-and-web-hosting/criteria-choosing-web-hosting-provid Finally, there's a free host you might like... no money and no ads either, with full cPanel, multiple emails, FTP accounts, and MySQL databases, plus auto-installers for several open-source PHP applications... http://www.HesitantRhino.com/free-web-hosting
  12. Try taking a look at my company, eVentureBiz - http://www.eventurebiz.com, my name is John and I am the ceo / founder. I run a blog and a forum on our site where I interact with customers and site visitors where I discuss web development, marketing, thinking creatively. I am always out there helping people with their websites. (our forum is new so there aren't many members - but that would just mean you'd get all of my attention!) If you host with us, I'd be available anytime if you have questions about the design of your site. I enjoy helping people. All our hosting plans come with 30 plus free scripts which you can install on your website (blogs, forums, classifieds, etc.). I created some picture guided tutorials which show step by step how to set up your email, install a blog, forum, etc. on your site using our control panel. See here: http://eventurebiz.com/tutorials/index.htm If you'd like to learn more about me and our company, our home page is: http://www.eventurebiz.com and my About Me page is on my blog: http://eventurebiz.com/blog/about/ Take care and good luck. 14. Hi, When choosing a web host it's of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too: Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites. Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges. Uptime: There's no point in having a website if people can't see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee? Number of websites allowed: If you're looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this? Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted. I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they're very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I'll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support. You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info
