why are web hosting services afraid of php5?

most web hosts that i have seen use php4. php5 is very stable and has much more versatility in its use of objects. php5 can even co-exist along side of php4 yet hosting companies dont, on average, even plan on the upgrade to php5

1. PHP 4 does everything most people want. Ultimately all I need is PHP 4.3.4 to do everything I need.
2. Not all of them are. I just switched to OpenHosting (and no, I don't work for them), and they give you full root-level hosting so you can install any script environment you want.
