Reliable, few complaints web hosting company?

I host a web site and 1 out of 20 times that I may randomly check the site, it's down!!! Anyone have a clue on how I can find out who is reputuable? Reliable? Few complaints? In a hosting company? Other than yahoo? I don't like yahoo's one year at a time registration of domains..not good if you're serious. Any advice?

Hi Paolouccio, Have just been reading through some of the posts regarding Web Hosting and noticed your in the same situation as me (having some difficulty finding a decent host) take a quick look at: http://www.uk2.net/ The things that stood out to me- 1. Currently UK2 are offering a free domain with all of there web hosting packages (which are decently priced). 2. According to Pingdom.com and Hyperspin.com this year they've had 100% (which is always nice). and 3. they're UK based with UK based call centres so no more indecipherable calls to the Pacific Rim if something goes wrong. 5. Hi there, I was in the same situation as you, I set up a website to share my photos with friends and family, but they always complain of not being able to go on to the site. One day a friend reffered me to ipower. After one month my friends have really noticed the difference in responce time. 6. I'm not sure of how you go about checking who is reputable but I do know of one free web hosting site that offers a shopping cart and is free of banners....woocha.com/mall. I use it and it is great for me. You can try it and if you for some reason don't like it you don't have anything to lose b/c it's FREE. Anyways I hope this info is helpful to you:)
