Web Hosting Dedicated Hosting

Drupal web hosting?

I've made a social networking site based on drupal and now i need to find the right hosting for it. The site has a pretty good chance to become very popular, but also a chance to pose no interest. I was thinking of finding a webhosting company from where to buy a shared hosting or vps or something and then upgrade to a dedicated server. My budget for now is 100$, but if the site is successful i can invest more. The hosting must have mod_rewrite and imagemagick. mcrypt and mhash are a plus but not required. What would be the best way to handle this issue and what hosting company do you recommend?

  4. I would go with the host I use: http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=17016322 1and1 has all kinds of packages available and offer everything. You can have a blog or you could host the next myspace. If you want to wait to see if your site takes off, you could always try a less expensive plan before upgrading - they have a special right now for 3 months free, so you may want to check it out. Installing Drupal is really easy - just upload with filezilla & go through Drupal setup :) The only thing you have to remember to do is change "local host" to a the host name of your database. Right now they have a deal with 3 months free and free domain names depending on the plan you choose.
